A blog can be a simple online journal to keep family and friends up to date on the happenings of ones's life or an in depth discussion of worldly topics. There are many educational blogs covering various topics.
If you simply want to read what fellow educators are posting you do not need to create yourself a blog; but if you want to contribute to the online environment blogs are a very simple way to get started.
Fort Bend ISD recommends Blogger as the preferred tool to create a teacher blog. There are many other sites that allow you to create a blog as well. Gaggle has a blog feature that filters content, making it ideal for blogging with students. Some bloggers post new material occasionally, while others are quite prolific. If you follow multiple blogs it could become rather tedious to continually check the sites for new posts. To simplify this task you can subscribe to the blogs and you will receive notice each time new posts are made. You can either add it to your Feeds list in Internet Explorer or you can use a RSS Reader to assemble all your feeds in one location.
Embedding tweets: You can embed tweets, yours or other people's, by clicking on the tweet, choosing the option for "more" and selecting "embed tweet." Then paste the embed code into the HTML view of your blog and the tweet will show.
Embedding Pins: To embed a pin in your blog, go to the pin and look for the Embed link. Copy that code, and paste it in the HTML section of your blog:
